Both Howard and Latham will not negotiate with the terrorists.

Howard claims "These are evil people, you can't make any concessions to them."

Just so everyone was sure that Labor isn't the real left, Latham said "I think it's wise policy and wise attitude not to negotiate with terrorists. These are [strong]evil[/strong] people, you can't make any concessions to them, you need to be strong in the fight against terror."
