Um, events, both psychological and physical can precede a collapse.
Credibility and hypocrisy can be an introspective measure. Internal conflict can ensue.
Stress manifests in the physical self, and can take the form of an unexplained collapse.

Peter Garrett sold out 36+ years worth of radical causes for a career to take him into retirement.
His 2004 rhetoric doesn't fool me and I don't think it fools him.

Nic, please see http://weezil0.blogspot.com/2004/07/peter-garrett-sells-soul-gets-safe.html

for a little background information.

Suki is trying to drive the point that Garrett had to cease expressing his own opinions as a conservationsist to join the ALP.

Interesting. I don't know much about Peter Garrett having been out of the country for the years when he had a high profile here (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). So the recent election campaign was my first exposure to him. I was unimpressed. I thought he made a not-very-good Labor candidate and that's leaving aside the issue of whether he should even have been a Labor candidate in the first place.

...some days I think that Peter assumes we won't analyse the incongruity of his past radical political causes and his present party line.
On other days I sense that the electorate really does have a short memory and a "What the fuck" attitude.

I demand more from the people represent ting me.

I fell over at a beach once. Luckily I've only been a hypocrite for a few years so I didn't require hospital treatment. I'm up for Liberal preselection next election!

I think people are taking exception to Garrett due to the cynical way he was plonked into the middle of the political game.

That also holds true for RJL Hawke, who just waltzed in after years in the unions. Granted he did rise to Messiah quickly.

I don't think Garrett will have the same sort of luck.

What I wouldn't give to hear Pete belt out 'U.S. Forces' down in front of his new office in K-S.

Won't be holding my breath waiting for this impromptu concert, tho.
