Latham to become a lighthouse keeper.

Lighthouse keepers don't need doorbells as there is very little foot traffic. It is the perfect job for a person who wants to get away from it all.

My hope for PM in 2007, has resigned from parliament.

He is looking as sick as his beloved Labor party is!

He just wasn't what I hoped he could be.
Even as I listen to the audio I'm thinking "internal attribution; suck it up"
I'm instantly ashamed of my lack of concern for him as a human being.

I guess that's how it is.
I demand that my Leaders lead.
  1. No crying.
  2. No weakness.
  3. No sycophancy.

I admire Mark as an individual, a husband, a father and a son.
He is putting his health and family before his career.
He can however, not fill the expectation I have for Leader of my country.

I've just realised what that means.
It means that I expect utter devotion and single-mindedness to one role.
I dislike personalities like that.
They make such lousy people...

What I expect creates what I dislike.

I have to go now, I need to cook some comfort food for me and the lighthouse keeper.

The Labor party machine should have closed ranks around an ill leader. You think the Liberals would have cut HoWARd adrift?

I'll NEVER vote ALP after this debacle. Anyone who would be PM is in the lot of malfeasants which didn't stand up for Latho when they should have- that includes Beaz, Rudd & Gillard.

They never forgave him for losing on 09 October 2004.
He was terminal by about half past eight that day...

The Labor party has been terminal since the day Beazley was silent when the MV TAMPA was boarded by the SAS.

Vote for the Fishing party if you like, but the preferential system leaves you with Kim/Kevin or John/Peter.

Welcome to Australia.
The land of the tablecloth-size ballot paper with two choices.

But have you seen the real reason Latham's quitting politics?

Isn't the labor party in a sorry state...

It's almost a case of clowns of the left of me jokers to the right. Or however that song goes.

as usual you are right on the money, suki. being the judgemental little cow that I am, I am always bagging people who put their career before the wellbeing and happiness of their kids. and yet ... for Latham to have been the leader I (desperately) wanted him to be, he would have had to have done that exactly.

Ah, what a mess.

On the plus side, he looks good now that he's shaved a few kilos off the old bod, and I am loving the close-cropped hair.
